New Book Releases I’m Excited For – January – Part 1!

I’m here for once again but for the final time this year to bring you another post all about new books being released in January of 2021! I love finding out all about new books being released and getting excited to see them out in the world!

There are so many incredible new releases coming out in the first month of 2021, so, I am going to make this a two part post! Here is part one of the January 2021 releases I’m excited for!

The Quantum Weirdness of the Almost-Kiss by Amy Noelle Parks

“Seventeen-year-old Evie Beckham has never been interested in dating. She’s been fully occupied by her love of mathematics and her frequent battles with anxiety (and besides, she’s always found the idea of kissing to be a little bit icky). But with the help of her best friend and her therapist, Evie’s feeling braver. Maybe even brave enough to enter a prestigious physics competition and to say yes to the new boy who’s been flirting with her.

Caleb Covic knows Evie isn’t ready for romance but assumes that when she is, she will choose him. So Caleb is horrified when he is forced to witness Evie’s meet cute with a floppy-haired, mathematically gifted transfer student. Because Caleb knows the girl never falls for the funny best friend when there’s a mysterious stranger around, he decides to use an online forum to capture Evie’s interest. Now, he’s got Evie wondering if it’s possible to fall in love with a boy she’s never met.”

I have been seeing nothing but amazing reviews for this book so as you can imagine I am very excited to give it a read! It sounds right up my street and is marketed for fans of Jenny Han who is one of my favourite authors. I will definitely be ordering and reading this one!

Be Dazzled by Ryan La Sala

“Project Runway goes to Comic Con in an epic queer love story about creativity, passion, and finding the courage to be your most authentic self.

Raffy has a passion for bedazzling. Not just bedazzling, but sewing, stitching, draping, pattern making–for creation. He’s always chosen his art over everything–and everyone–else and is determined to make his mark at this year’s biggest cosplay competition. If he can wow there, it could lead to sponsorship, then art school, and finally earning real respect for his work. There’s only one small problem… Raffy’s ex-boyfriend, Luca, is his main competition.”

This is another that I have seen a lot of on the internet and one that I am incredibly excited to read. I feel like this is one of those books that will put a smile on your face whilst you are reading it, so, I will be picking this one up when I need a cheer-up.

Gut Feelings by C.G. Moore

“At school, I learned that words,
More than weapons,
Could destroy bodies,
Could break hearts
More than fists or fury.

This is the story of Chris, what happened to him at age eleven and how that would change the rest of his life. A life-affirming and powerful coming of age verse novel that shines a light on chronic illness, who we are and how we live.”

I’ve heard nothing but incredible things about C.G Moore’s first novel Fall Out which I am yet to read so I can only imagine this one will be just as amazing. So, I have put this straight on my TBR and will be reading it as soon as I can.

Burn Our Bodies Down by Rory Power

“Ever since Margot was born, it’s been just her and her mother. No answers to Margot’s questions about what came before. No history to hold on to. No relative to speak of. Just the two of them, stuck in their run-down apartment, struggling to get along.

But that’s not enough for Margot. She wants family. She wants a past. And she just found the key she needs to get it: A photograph, pointing her to a town called Phalene. Pointing her home. Only, when Margot gets there, it’s not what she bargained for.

Margot’s mother left for a reason. But was it to hide her past? Or was it to protect Margot from what’s still there?”

I’ve actually already read this book and throughly enjoyed it. So, I’m very excited for it to be released and to see other people’s thoughts. It is such an intriguing book and one with twists and turns I just didn’t see coming. It is well worth a read. I will be posting a full review of this book very soon.

Last One to Die by Cynthia Murphy

“16-year-old, Irish-born Niamh has just arrived for the summer, and quickly discovers that the girls being attacked look frighteningly similar to her.

Determined to make it through her Drama Course, Niamh is placed at the Victorian Museum to put her drama skills to the test, and there she meets Tommy: he’s kind, fun, attentive, and really hot! . . . Nonetheless, there’s something eerie about the museum.

As the two strands of present-day serial attacker and sinister Victorian history start to collide, Niamh realises that things are not as they seem. Will she be next?”

I am always on the lookout for new and exciting thrillers and this sounds right up my street. I have added this one to my TBR immediately and will be reading it whenever I need a thrilling, fast-paced read!
