New Book Releases I’m Excited For – January – Part 2!

A couple of days ago I share some of the new books being released in January 2021 that I am excited about. I love finding out all about new books being released and getting excited to see them out in the world!

There are so many incredible new releases coming out in the first month of 2021, so, like I said before, I’ve split this post into two parts. Be sure to read part one first! Here is part two of the January 2021 releases I’m excited for!

First Day of My Life by Lisa Williamson

“Three friends, a stolen baby and a tangled web of lies. Everything is about to change. First Day of my Life is not what you expect, and it’s not who you suspect either. A baby has been stolen. But there are three sides to this story – three people bonded by friendship and torn apart by the unpredictability of life. Frankie, Jojo and Ram. It is a reminder to us all that every day has the potential to be the first day of the rest of your life.”

Have you ever read a book in which every word, every sentence and every chapter makes you unable to put it down? This is one of those books. I started First Day of My Life and within 24 hours I had finished it. Every spare minute that I has was  spent reading this book, I just had to know what happened next. I cannot wait to see this one out in the wild. Be sure to check out my full review for this book here.

Every Single Lie by Rachel Vincent

“Nobody in Beckett’s life seems to be telling the whole story. Her boyfriend Jake keeps hiding texts and might be cheating on her. Her father lied about losing his job before his shocking death. And everyone in school seems to be whispering about her and her family behind her back.

But none of that compares to the day Beckett finds the body of a newborn baby in a gym bag-Jake’s gym bag -on the floor of her high school locker room. As word leaks out, rumors that Beckett’s the mother take off like wildfire in a town all too ready to believe the worst of her. And as the police investigation unfolds, she discovers that everyone has a secret to hide and the truth could alter everything she thought she knew.”

This book sounds so intriguing and I am very excited to pick it up and give it a read to see what I think. I’ve seen a number of mixed reviews about this one so I am looking forward to see what my thoughts about it are.

Concrete Rose by Angie Thomas

“If there’s one thing seventeen-year-old Maverick Carter knows, it’s that a real man takes care of his family. As the son of a former gang legend, Mav does that the only way he knows how: dealing for the King Lords. With this money he can help his mom, who works two jobs while his dad’s in prison.

Life’s not perfect, but with a fly girlfriend and a cousin who always has his back, Mav’s got everything under control.

Until, that is, Maverick finds out he’s a father.

Suddenly he has a baby, Seven, who depends on him for everything. But it’s not so easy to sling dope, finish school, and raise a child. So when he’s offered the chance to go straight, he takes it. In a world where he’s expected to amount to nothing, maybe Mav can prove he’s different.”

This is potentially the book I am most excited for being released in January. It has absolutely incredible reviews so far and I am looking forward to seeing what I think. This is the prequel to The Hate U Give and tells the story of Starr’s father, Maverick. I cannot wait to have this in my hands and give it a read.

The Island by C.L Taylor

“Welcome to The Island.

Where your worst fears are about to come true…

It was supposed to be the perfect holiday: a week-long trip for six teenage friends on a remote tropical island.

But when their guide dies of a stroke leaving them stranded, the trip of a lifetime turns into a nightmare.

Because someone on the island knows each of the group’s worst fears. And one by one, they’re becoming a reality.

Seven days in paradise. A deadly secret.

Who will make it off the island alive?”

I’ve just got approved for the audiobook of this and I cannot wait to listen to it! It sounds so intriguing and so thrilling and I cannot wait to see what twists and turns this book has in store for the readers!
