‘I Should Have Read That’ Book Tag

I love a good book tag. They always make me think, I have a lot of fun writing them and love seeing other people’s answers. So, when I was the ‘I Should Have Read That’ book tag over on Books Nest I knew I had to give it a go. Here is the ‘I Should Have Read That’ book tag!

A book that a certain friend is always telling you to read

I’m going to have to say The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness which is a book that Sarah from The Little Contemporary Corner has told me to read for what feels like years. She knows it is a book I’ll love and on top of that the film adaptation has a favourite of mine in it, Tom Holland. I am hoping to read this book before the film is released, let’s hope I do just that! I’m sorry I haven’t read it sooner Sarah!

A book that has been on your TBR forever and yet you still haven’t picked it up

This would have to be The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. I’ve had this on my TBR since college and have never once picked it up. It has gotten glowing reviews ever since I added it to my TBR. I added it to my list of TBR books to tackle in 2021 so I am hoping to finally get round to reading it this year.

A book in a series you’ve started, but haven’t gotten round to finishing yet

One of Us in Next by Karen M. McManus which is the sequel to One of Us is Lying. I read the start of this a few months back but never got round to reading more. I don’t know why because I love the authors writing. One day I will finish this book but who knows when!

A classic you’ve always liked the sound of, but never actually read

My boyfriends favourite books is 1984 by George Orwell and he is always telling me I should read it. I have alway been intrigued by the book because of its themes, topics and the things it raises. I will read it one day, I just don’t know when that will be. One day I will have the urge to pick this book up and it will be lovely to discuss it with David.

A popular book that is seems everyone but you has read

I have yet to read You Should See Me in a Crown by Leah Johnson but it seems that every other person in the world has. It has some glowing reviews but I’ve also seen some mixed reviews, so I really want to give it a read very soon and see what I think. I want to try and read it before the authors next book is released but we shall see!

A book that inspired a film/TV adaptation that you really love, but you just haven’t read it yet

I really loved the film adaptation of The Miseducation of Cameron Post by Emily M. Danforth but I have yet to read the book itself. I want to change this very soon because I know how many people love this book and I need to see what I think. I’ve always been put off by the length of the book but I know this is stupid. I will read it soon though!

A book you see all over Instagram but haven’t picked up yet

I’m going to say My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell. This was all over my Instagram a couple of weeks ago and was getting rave reviews. I have yet to read it but I did buy myself the eBook for 99p at the weekend so I am hoping to read it soon! I’m really intrigued as to how this story will play out and I don’t plan on looking into anything about it until I read it. This book does have some triggering topics though so if you are looking into reading this be sure to check those out first.

So, that was the ‘I Should Have Read That’ book tag! If you give this a go be sure to tag me in it so I can read your answers! What books do you think you should have read? Let me know in the comments!

  1. This Night Circus is one of my absolute favorite books, so I really hope you enjoy it once you pick it up. Also, I read You Should See Me in a Crown last year and adored it. I loved the writing and the characters.
