Books I Have on Pre-Order! – Part One

One thing that lockdown has been good for is forcing me to make a lot of pre-orders. Due to not being able to go in a bookshop, pick books up on a whim or on release day, this has meant that I have been ordering book ahead of time and having them arrive right on my doorstep!

I have quite a few books on pre-order at the minute and wanted to share them with you all. So, I’m going to share the books and some thoughts about them. I’m going to split this into two parts. Here is part one of books that I have on pre-order!

Heartstopper Volume Four by Alice Oseman

Charlie didn’t think Nick could ever like him back, but now they’re officially boyfriends. Charlie’s beginning to feel ready to say those three little words: I love you.

Nick’s been feeling the same, but he’s got a lot on his mind – not least coming out to his dad, and the fact that Charlie might have an eating disorder.

As summer turns to autumn and a new school year begins, Charlie and Nick are about to learn a lot about what love means.

I have had this book on pre-order for what feels like absolutely forever now and I cannot wait to finally read it. Alice Oseman’s books are always beautiful and make me smile so much and that is something I really need in a book at the minute. I am looking forward to getting lost in another of Alice’s books once again and especially in Nick and Charlie’s story! Bring on Heartstopper Vlume Four and the joy that it will bring!

Off the Record by Camryn Garrett

Ever since seventeen-year-old Josie Wright can remember, writing has been her identity, the thing that grounds her when everything else is a garbage fire. So when she wins a contest to write a celebrity profile for Deep Focus magazine, she’s equal parts excited and scared, but also ready. She’s got this.

Soon Josie is jetting off on a multi-city tour, rubbing elbows with sparkly celebrities, frenetic handlers, stone-faced producers, and eccentric stylists. She even finds herself catching feelings for the subject of her profile, dazzling young newcomer Marius Canet. Josie’s world is expanding so rapidly, she doesn’t know whether she’s flying or falling. But when a young actress lets her in on a terrible secret, the answer is clear: she’s in over her head.

I read Camryn Garrett’s debut novel a little short of two years ago now and I throughly enjoyed it. So, I had to pre-order the author’s second novel because it sounds intriguing. I cannot wait to see what I think about this one. I know that her debut novel tackles some hard topics and I am intrigued to see what this one tackles. I’ll be reading this one as soon as I can for sure!

Hani and Ishu’s Guide to Fake Dating by Adibe Jaigirdar

Everyone likes Humaira “Hani” Khan—she’s easy going and one of the most popular girls at school. But when she comes out to her friends as bisexual, they invalidate her identity, saying she can’t be bi if she’s only dated guys. Panicked, Hani blurts out that she’s in a relationship…with a girl her friends absolutely hate—Ishita “Ishu” Dey. Ishu is the complete opposite of Hani. She’s an academic overachiever who hopes that becoming head girl will set her on the right track for college. But Ishita agrees to help Hani, if Hani will help her become more popular so that she stands a chance of being elected head girl.

Despite their mutually beneficial pact, they start developing real feelings for each other. But relationships are complicated, and some people will do anything to stop two Bengali girls from achieving happily ever after.

It was not very long ago that I read The Henna Wars by Adiba Jaigirdar, which I absolutely adored. So, I knew that I had to pre-order this book as soon as it was announced for a number of reasons. One, the author writes so beautifully and I am looking forward to seeing what happens with this book. Then two, this book has a fake dating troupe which is one of, if not my favourite trope. I am hoping to read this one the minute I have it in my hands.

One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston

For cynical twenty-three-year-old August, moving to New York City is supposed to prove her right: that things like magic and cinematic love stories don’t exist, and the only smart way to go through life is alone. She can’t imagine how waiting tables at a 24-hour pancake diner and moving in with too many weird roommates could possibly change that. And there’s certainly no chance of her subway commute being anything more than a daily trudge through boredom and electrical failures.

But then, there’s this gorgeous girl on the train.

I listened to the audiobook of Red, White and Royal Blue a while back and I adored it. So, when I heard about the author’s new book quite a while ago I added it to my TBR and the minute I could pre-order it, I did! It is already getting rave reviews so I know I am in for an excellent read when it arrives. For now I am just going to get more and more excited until I can finally get it in my hands!

That is just some of the books that I have on pre-order at the minute. Keep an eye out for part two with even more books that I have pre-ordered. What have you pre-ordered? Let me know in the comments below.
