Happy New Year everyone! Today is the first day of 2022 and the start of a brand new year. I’m looking forward to seeing what this new year has in store. I thought to start out the year, it would be perfect to do a little New Years book tag which I found on Cleopatra Loves Books. Here is the New Years Book Tag!

How many books are you planning on reading in 2023?
I’ve set my Goodreads and Storygraph challenge goals to 75 books this year. I managed to read 140 books throughout 2022. So, I felt as though 75 books for the entirety of 2023 gives me enough room to enjoy my reading and not push myself to meet a goal. If I need to, I can always up my goal if I reach it early on into the year.
Name five books you didn’t get to read in 2022 but want to make a priority in 2023?
There are so many books that I bought in 2022 and didn’t get round to reading straight away like I had planned. So, it is safe to say there are a lot more than 5 that I want to read in 2023. If I did have to narrow it down to 5 that I definitely want to read in 2023, they would have to be:
- Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams
- Her Majesty’s Royal Coven by Juno Dawson
- It’s Not Summer Without You by Jenny Han
- My Policeman by Bethan Roberts
- The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

Name a genre you want to read more of in 2023?
I’m going to say fantasy. I read a few fantasy books in 2022 and I enjoyed them. So, I’m hoping that in 2023 I give more fantasy books a go. I’m sure I will enjoy giving some more fantasy a try.
Three non-book related goals for 2022
- Get married and have a lovely honeymoon
- Get a lot of our house re-decoration completed
- Spend more time with family and friends
What’s a book you’ve had forever that you still need to read?
This book has been on lists for me so many times, Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. I am always saying I will read it soon and then it never happens. So, this year I am absolutely determined to finally read it!
One word that you hope 2023 will be?
Healthy!

There you have it! The New Years Book Tag! Hope you had a wonderful New Year and have a wonderful 2023!

Good luck with your 2023 goals! I love The Song of Achilles.
