Books at the Top of my TBR List!

I’m always adding books to my TBR pile. Some of those books are going to stay on there for years, there is no doubt about that. But, there are a few of them that have shot right to the top of the pile and I’m planning on reading as soon as possible. I wanted to share them with you. Here are the books at the top of my TBR list!

The Exiled by Sarah Daniels

Synopsis for Book 1 – The Stranded to avoid spoilers.

Welcome to the Arcadia.

Once a luxurious cruise ship, it became a refugee camp after being driven from Europe by an apocalyptic war. Now it floats near the coastline of the Federated States – a leftover piece of a fractured USA.

For forty years, residents of the Arcadia have been prohibited from making landfall. It is a world of extreme haves and have nots, gangs and make-shift shelters.

Esther is a loyal citizen, working flat-out to have the rare chance to live a normal life as a medic on dry land. Nik is a rebel, planning something big to liberate the Arcadia once and for all.

When events throw them both together, their lives, and the lives of everyone on the ship, will change forever . . .

After finishing The Stranded just yesterday, I immediately want to pick up The Exiled which is book two in this series. I want to know what happens next and I’m completely hooked on the story. I’m hoping the second is as good as the first. I’ll be part of the blog tour for this book very soon too!

The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston

Sometimes, the worst day of your life happens, and you have to figure out how to live after it.

So Clementine forms a plan to keep her heart safe: stay busy, work hard, find someone decent to love, and try to remember to chase the moon. The last one is silly and obviously metaphorical, but her aunt always told her that you needed at least one big dream to keep going. And for the last year, that plan has gone off without a hitch. Mostly. The love part is hard because she doesn’t want to get too close to anyone—she isn’t sure her heart can take it.

And then she finds a strange man standing in the kitchen of her late aunt’s apartment. A man with kind eyes and a Southern drawl and a taste for lemon pies. The kind of man that, before it all, she would’ve fallen head-over-heels for. And she might again.

Except, he exists in the past. Seven years ago, to be exact. And she, quite literally, lives seven years in his future.

After reading The Dead Romantics last year, I’ve been desperate to read another romance by Ashley Poston. This one sounds like it is going to be a unique and fun read and I’m sure I’ll love it. So, I want to pick this one very soon.

Before Your Memory Fades by Toshikazu Kawaguchi

In a small back alley in Tokyo, there is a café that has been serving carefully brewed coffee for more than one hundred years. But this coffee shop offers its customers a unique experience: the chance to travel back in time.

From the author of Before the Coffee Gets Cold and Tales from the Cafe comes another story of four new customers, each of whom is hoping to take advantage of Café Funiculi Funicula’s time-travelling offer. Among some familiar faces from Kawaguchi’s previous novels, readers will also be introduced to a daughter, a comedian, a sister, and a lover, each with something they wish they had said differently.

I’ve grown to become obsessed with this series. It completely breaks my heart but I can’t get enough of it. This is the third book in the series and the fourth comes out later this year. I’m looking forward to seeing what characters we meet in this one and how much it is going to break my heart.

Business or Pleasure by Rachel Lynn Solomon

Chandler Cohen has never felt more like the ghost in “ghostwriter” until she attends a signing for a book she wrote—and the author doesn’t even recognize her. The evening turns more promising when she meets a charming man at the bar and immediately connects with him. But when all their sexual tension culminates in a spectacularly awkward hookup, she decides this is one night better off forgotten.

Unfortunately, that’s easier said than done. Her next project is ghostwriting a memoir for Finn Walsh, a C-list actor best known for playing a lovable nerd on a cult classic werewolf show who now makes a living appearing at fan conventions across the country. But Chandler knows him better from their one-night stand of hilarious mishaps.

Chandler’s determined to keep their partnership as professional as possible, but when she admits to Finn their night together wasn’t as mind-blowing as he thought it was, he’s distraught. He intrigues her enough that they strike a deal: when they’re not working on his book, Chandler will school Finn in the art of satisfaction. As they grow closer both in and out of the bedroom, they must figure out which is more important, business or pleasure—or if there’s a way for them to have both.

Rachel Lynn Solomon is one of my go-to authors and her latest book sounds incredible. I don’t want to leave it very long before picking this one up. I think it will be perfect for summer and will be one I read quickly. I’m looking forward to it.

Faking It by Beth Reekles

Lifelong singleton, Sophie, is looking for love. With her friends settling down and her family piling on the pressure, it seems that her anonymous column about relationships is more successful than her actual dating life. But now, with her sister’s wedding approaching, she’s determined not to turn up alone – and if she can’t find her soulmate in time, she’ll just have to fake one.

Enter Harry. Charming, attractive and seeking a post-break-up distraction, he answers Sophie’s plea on a dating app, promising an all-expenses-paid weekend to anyone crazy enough to go along with her charade. And with the wedding a hit and a calendar full of “couple” events on the horizon, the pair realise the only way they’ll survive the next few months is with each other – and a little white lie . . .

A love a good fake dating story and this one sounds like it is going to be a lot of fun to read. I’ve read one of Beth Reekles’ books before and enjoyed it so I want to give more of her books a go and this one seems like the perfect place to start that.

There you have it, some of the books at the top of my TBR list at the moment. What books are at the top of your TBR list? Let me know in the comments below!
