August has gone by very quickly. This month has been a bit of a rollercoaster. I went on days out, a trip to Oxford, days with friends but I also lost my best friend, my dog Maggie. Here is what happened in August.

I read 9 books throughout August which is a little more than last month but not as much as I hoped. I rated the books all different things this month too. I wrote a post a couple of days ago which is full of mini-reviews for the books I read in August, which you can find here. Here is the shortened version of what I read in August.
- The Boy You Always Wanted by Michelle Quach – ★★★★
- We’ll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han – ★★★★★
- Faking It by Beth Reekles – ★★★★
- Forget Me Not by Julie Soto – ★★★★
- Love & Saffron by Kim Fay – ★★★★★
- Secretly Yours by Tessa Bailey – ★
- My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell – ★★★★
- The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han – ★★★★
- She is a Haunting by Trang Thanh Tran – ★★★

August has been another month full of blogging. I have kept up with my schedule again and blogging brings me a lot of joy. So, I’m proud of myself for being so organised with that. I wanted to share the top 5 posts I’ve enjoyed writing the most throughout August!

The month started on a very sad note. After 14 and a half years, we lost our dog and best friend, Maggie. I’m still heartbroken and I’m sure I will be for years to come. I’m so lucky to have spent so much time with her and have made so many amazing memories with her. I’ll never forget her being at my wedding towards the end of her life and her having the best time.
I got some new books shelves this month and have already managed to fill them completely. I suppose it is an excuse to get even more though!
I spent a lovely weekend with friends this month. We chatted, watched TV and read books together. It was wonderful and just what I needed.
I took myself on a few days out to shopping centres this month. I enjoyed just wandering around shops even if I wasn’t buying anything. I started going on more walks this month too and it really helps to clear my head.
Finally, myself and David went on a trip to Oxford at the end of the month to visit some of his family. We went on a tour of bookshops, parks and spent some lovely time with family. It was wonderful.
August has been a rollercoaster of a month with sadness but also a lot of joy. I’m looking forward to seeing what September brings!

That is it, August is over. I cannot wait to see what September holds. What has August been like for you and what have you read? Let me know in the comments below!

First, sorry for your loss. There’s a family dog in my life and I know none of us are ready for the inevitable. The wedding picture of you two is adorable, btw.
August has been pretty crazy for me. There was the birth of my daughter and numerous appointments I needed to keep up with. I’ve wanted to fit more reading into my schedule and picked up a few books from the library. I’m currently enjoying Babel!
