October Book Haul!

November is here and somehow we only have two months left of 2023. So, I am back with another book haul and this one consists of 19 books. It was my birthday month in October so I bought myself a lot more books than usual, or at least that is what I’m telling myself.

This haul consists of books gifted by publishers and books I’ve picked up throughout the month. Here is my October book haul.

At the start of the month, I turned 26 and spent a few days on holiday with my husband. So, of course I picked up some books. The first ones I picked up were, My Roommate is a Vampire by Jenna Levine and Wildfire by Hannah Grace. Both of these have been on my radar for a while and the offer on them was too good to miss.

We also visited the massive Waterstones in Liverpool and I left there with quite the haul. I’ve wanted Yerba Buena by Nina LaCour for ages so grabbed that. Both Jane Goes Wild by Farah Heron and The Borrow a Boyfriend Club by Page Powars have been on my wishlist for a while so I grabbed them too. Finally, I picked up The Kamogawa Food Detectives by Hisashi Kashiwai which sounds incredible.

Whilst on the trip to Amsterdam with my friends I couldn’t leave without picking up a book. So, I grabbed Love and Other Flight Delays by Denise Williams. I’ve been wanting to read this one for a while and I don’t think it is on sale in physical form in the UK.

I added quite a lot of the books I saw on the shelves in Amsterdam to my wishlist and after a bad day I ordered myself a couple to cheer me up. They were The Déjà Glitch by Holly James, The Pumpkin Spice Cafe by Laurie Gilmore and The Fraud Squad by Kyla Zhao. I think these will both be fun, quick reads that I’m excited to pick up soon.

I was incredibly lucky to be gifted a few books by publishers this month. Little Brown Books gifted me copies of Funny Feelings by Tarah DeWitt, The Graham Effect by Elle Kennedy and Iris Kelly Doesn’t Date by Ashley Herring Blake which are all out now. I’m so excited to read all of these because they all sound incredible!

Also, Usborne gifted me a copy of Catch Your Death by Ravena Guron which is going to be the perfect thriller to read when it gets colder. It is out on 7th December and I can’t wait.

I saw a couple of Christmas books whilst on a day out and wanted to add them to my TBR for this Christmas season. They were Three Holidays and a Wedding by Marissa Stapley and Uzma Jalaluddin and Only for the Holidays by Abiola Bello. I can’t wait to read them this Christmas.

At the end of the month I placed an order via the TikTok shop (it sucked me in to the bargains). For only £13 I picked up A Holly Jolly Ever After by Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone, Love at First Set by Jennifer Dugan and Pizza Girl by Jean Kyoung Frazier. These have all been on my radar for a while so I couldn’t miss the amazing offer.

So, I ended the month with 19 more books than I began it with. Thank you so much to the publishers who gifted some of the books included in this haul!

What books did you get in October and what books are you excited about in November? Let me know in the comments!
