Books Recently Added to my Wish List

I’ve visited a lot of book shops recently which means I’ve added a lot of books to my wish list. I love using my wish list to keep an eye on books I want to purchase soon and to add books to it that catch my eye whilst out. Quite often I will buy myself a book off this list as a little treat to myself and it brings me a lot of joy.

I’ve recently added quite a lot of books to my wish list. So, I wanted to share with you some of those books. Here they are!

A woman sells her daughter to a passing beekeeper for two jars of honey. A baby weighing fifteen pounds is born in the depths of winter but named “Girl of Spring”. A storm brings down the roof of a ramshackle restaurant to reveal a hidden fortune. These are just some of the events that set Myeong-Kwan’s beautifully crafted, wild world in motion.

Set in a remote village in South Korea, Whale follows the lives of its linked characters: Geumbok, who has been chasing an indescribable thrill ever since she first saw a whale crest in the ocean; her mute daughter, Chunhui, who communicates with elephants; and a one-eyed woman who controls honeybees with a whistle.

I’ve been seeing this one everywhere recently and I’m so intrigued by it. It seems like it is going to be a difficult read at times so I feel like I need to be in the right head-space to read it. Plus, it is has been getting some excellent reviews online. I will certainly be picking it up soon.

Three years ago, Alice spent one night in an abandoned house with her friends, Ila and Hannah. Since then, Alice’s life has spiraled. She lives a haunted existence, selling videos of herself for money, going to parties she hates, drinking herself to sleep.

Memories of that night torment Alice, but when Ila asks her to return to the House, to go past the KEEP OUT sign and over the sick earth where teenagers dare each other to venture, Alice knows she must go.

Together, Alice and Ila must face the horrors that happened there, must pull themselves apart from the inside out, put their differences aside, and try to rescue Hannah, whom the House has chosen to make its own.

I’ve been in the mood to read more horror recently and I saw this one whilst out and about recently and it sounded interesting. It has some mixed reviews which is the reason I was a bit reluctant to pick it up right away. But, it may be one I pick up in future.

At a New York City Wedding, on a sweltering summer night, four people are trying to get their lives started.

Yun has everything he’s ever wanted, but somehow it’s never enough.
Emory is finally making her mark, but feels the shame more than the success.
Andrew just wants to be honest, but had lied to himself his whole life.
Fin can’t resist falling in love, but can’t help wrecking it all either.

Then the four of them watch as one of the guests sits down and never gets back up. Soon it’s happening everywhere. Is it an illness or a choice?

Because how can anyone be happy in a world where the only choice is to feel everything – or nothing at all?

I’ve been interested in this one since it came out in hardback but was waiting for it to be released in paperback before I added it to my list. Now that it is out in paperback, I’ve added it to my list. It sounds really interesting and has got a lot of good reviews since it has been out. I think this may be my next purchase.

Josie Moore has given the opposite sex––and love––plenty of chances. Four exactly, if you count all her failed engagements, and five if you include the absentee father who kept her existence a secret until very recently. So when her father decides to announce his retirement with a splashy magazine piece about the family, Josie realizes her romantic history is a complicated PR issue.

Matthew Flanagan is the mud, literally. Not only has he been fired from his job, but also the tires of his car are stuck in the muck after taking a wrong turn as he enters Green Oak, North Carolina. So, he grabs a duffel with his essentials and goes in search of a place to crash until he gets his life back on track. But instead, he finds his best friend’s sister, Josie, greeting him as her fiancé.

What starts as a big messy misunderstanding quickly turns into an arrangement with Matthew playing a new role as doting fiancé. A fifth engagement––and a stunt, at that––makes Josie’s stomach turn, but every dilemma requires a choice between equally undesirable alternatives, and Matthew doesn’t seem to mind becoming one more number in a colourful list of grooms-that-never-were. Despite the ring on her finger, Josie knows this is only temporary, even if the rest of the small town believes that the fifth time’s the charm.

I’m always going to add Elena Armas’ books to my wishlist no matter what the book is about because I know I can rely on her for a nice easy romance. This one sounds excellent with fake engagement and a PR relationship. I’m certainly intrigued by it and will be picking it up when it is out.

Sophie Taylor has a secret and Joe Walsh thinks he knows it (all). He’s devilishly handsome, incredibly hot – and far too sure of himself.

Unfortunately, Sophie desperately needs his help. She has lost her laptop – and her sequel to the sensational, spicy romance that everybody’s talking about.

Because Sophie is not just hiding something small. She is Este Cox, the mysterious romance author the entire world is desperate to unmask.

When a trip to Sophie’s home town leads to the disgruntled pair sharing a one-bed cottage, it’s a short step to sharing a whole lot more besides… Can Sophie trust Joe with the truth – and be herself?

I saw this one whilst browsing the HarperCollins website a few days ago and immediately added it to my wish list. I love enemies-to-lovers books and I’ve seen so many amazing things about this author recently that it is certainly going to be one I read.

There you have it some of the books that I’ve added to my wish list recently. If you want to look at other books I’ve added to my wish list, you can find it here. What books have you added to your wish list recently? Let me know in the comments!
