I’ve been visiting a lot of book shops recently which means I’ve added a lot of books to my wish list. I love using my wish list to keep an eye on books I want to purchase soon and to add books to it that catch my eye whilst out. Quite often I will buy myself a book off this list as a little treat to myself and it brings me a lot of joy.
I thought I’d share some of the books I’ve recently added to my wish list. Here they are!

The Favourites by Layne Fargo
Katarina Shaw has always known that she was destined to become an Olympic skater. When she meets Heath Rocha, a lonely kid stuck in the foster care system, their instant connection makes them a formidable duo on the ice. Clinging to skating – and each other – to escape their turbulent lives, Kat and Heath go from childhood sweethearts to champion ice dancers, captivating the world with their scorching chemistry, rebellious style, and rollercoaster relationship.
Until a shocking incident at the Olympic Games brings their partnership to a sudden end.
As the ten-year anniversary of their final skate approaches, an unauthorised documentary reignites the public obsession with Shaw and Rocha. Kat wants nothing to do with the documentary. But she can’t stand the thought of someone else defining her legacy either. So, after a decade of silence, she’s telling her story. Sensational rumours have haunted their every step for years, but the truth may be even more shocking than the headlines.

I’ve been seeing this one all over recently and it has me so intrigued. It isn’t even out until January next year but has been getting some absolutely incredible reviews. Ice skating, romance and the olympic games is the perfect trio in my opinion. I cannot wait to read this!
Under Loch and Key by Lana Ferguson
Keyanna ‘Key’ MacKay is used to secrets. Raised by a single father who never divulged his past, it’s only after his death that she finds herself thrust into the world he’d always refused to speak of. With just a childhood bedtime story about a monster that saved her father’s life and the name of her estranged grandmother to go off of, Key has no idea what she’ll find in Scotland. But repeating her father’s mistakes and being rescued by a gorgeous, angry Scotsman – who thinks she’s an idiot – is definitely the last thing she expects.
Lachlan Greer has his own secrets to keep, especially from the bonnie lass he pulls to safety from the slippery shore – a lass with captivating eyes and the last name he’s been taught not to trust. He’s looking for answers as well, and Key’s presence on the grounds they both now occupy presents a real problem. It’s even more troublesome when he gets a front row seat to the lukewarm welcome Key receives from her family; the strange powers she begins to develop; and the fierce determination she brings to every obstacle in her path. Things he shouldn’t care about, and someone he definitely doesn’t find wildly attractive.
When their secrets collide, it becomes clear that Lachlan could hold the answers Keyanna is after – and that she might also be the key to uncovering his. Up against time, mystery, and a centuries old curse, they’ll quickly discover that magic might not only be in fairy tales, and that love can be a real loch-mess.

This one sounds as though it is going to be one of those romance books that is perfect for when you need something easy and spicy. I’ve read a couple of books by Lana Ferguson and I enjoyed them both so it felt right to add this one to my wish list. I think this one will be fun to read in the winter months and I’m excited!
Happiness Falls by Angie Kim
Mia Parkson’s life is turned upside down when her stay-at-home dad, the family’s anchor, goes missing. The only witness? Eugene – her younger, nonspeaking teenage brother.
As the Police struggle for leads, and her mother and twin brother struggle to keep things together at home, Mia gains access to key clues about her father’s disappearance. Headstrong, hyper analytical, and with secrets of her own, she decides to try and solve the case. But could Mia’s impulsive actions be putting her whole family in danger?

I added this one as I feel it will be the perfect book to purchase when I’m in the mood for a mystery book that will keep me hooked. That being said, I don’t think it will be your typical mystery and there will be more than meets the eye. I’m hoping to get round to this one very soon.
Tongueless by Lau Yee-Wa
Wai and Ling are secondary school Chinese language teachers in Hong Kong, both crumbling under the pressure of a forced transition from using Cantonese to Mandarin as a medium of Chinese-language instruction. Apolitical and focused only on surviving their professional environment, Wai and Ling approach the challenge differently: Wai, awkward and unpopular, becomes obsessed with Mandarin learning, only to fail the qualification exam, lose her job, become mentally ill, and kill herself by inserting a drill into her head.
Ling is polished and cunning, she knows how to please her superiors and believes she can tactfully dodge the Mandarin challenge through her social savviness. Ling sees herself haunted and mirrored by Wai’s tragedy: things around her slowly spiral out of control and her colleagues begin to shun her too. What will she do to survive in a ruthless environment where the rules of survival are constantly being re-written?

I saw this one whilst out in Manchester earlier this month and instantly added it to my wish list. It sounds very interesting and has got some excellent reviews. I think this may be one that I ask for as a birthday present this year and I’m sure it will be an intriguing read.

There you have it some of the books that I’ve added to my wish list recently. If you want to look at other books I’ve added to my wish list, you can find it here. What books have you added to your wish list recently? Let me know in the comments!
