August Book Haul!

Hi all, hope you are doing well! I am back once again with yet another book haul! August’s book haul consists of 10 books which is a lot more than I thought I’d have in a haul this month. Given that I am actually on a book buying ban and was for most of the month, this is a lot of books! I did have a couple of books on pre-order, I bought a couple based on excellent reviews and I was also given a couple of books as a present! I will highlight next to the book that was gifted. So, here is my August book haul!

I finally went back into a bookshop after a good 5 months without a bookshop trip. I have missed them so much and it was so lovely to be back surrounded by books. On my first trip to a bookshop I bought You Should See Me in a Crown by Leah Jackson and The Black Kids by Christina Hammonds Reed. I have yet to read either of these but I cannot wait to do so.

A few days later I was back in a bookshop to pick up some books I had been waiting for for a while! They were Heartbreak Boys by Simon James Green and The Space Between Worlds by Micaiah Johnson. I have been excited about both of these for a while and I’ve read one of them already and will be reviewing it very soon!

In August I had a couple of pre-orders arrive. One was The Reckless Afterlife of Harriet Stoker by Lauren James which I loved with all my heart and posted a review for which you can read here. The other was Nick and Charlie by Alice Oseman which I also loved to pieces and flew right the way through.

Towards the end of the month I had some exciting surprise book post and a gift from a friend arrive! They were Seed by Lisa Heathfield and Sweet Sorrow by David Nicholls. Thank you so much to my wonderful boyfriend for gifting me one and to the amazing Sarah for gifting me the other!

Right at the end of the month the lovely Sarah, Sophie and I took a spontaneous trip to a local bookstore and bought a couple of books! The last two books I bought this month were Punching the Air by Ibi Zoboi and Yusef Salaam and Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert. I bought both of these due to seeing so many amazing reviews flying around about them on the internet.

Overall, I ended the month with 10 more physical books than I started which is definitely a lot more than I thought. I am now back on my book buying ban until the end of September, wish me luck!
