At the start of the summer, Jack and Nate find themselves dumped as their respective exes, Dylan and Tariq, start up a new relationship together. Not only that, their exes start posting pictures on social media, showing the whole world how fabulous their new life together is.
Jack and Nate are reeling. Not to be outdone, they decide to create their own ‘highlights reel’ and show their exes that they’re having an even better time.
But between the depressing motorway service station motels, damp campsites, and an ultimate showdown with the exes, something epic really is happening: Jack and Nate are learning to get over their heartache and open themselves up to new possibilities for love.
What a heart-warming, fun-filled, hilarious novel this is. It makes you long for summer and road trips! It is 400 pages long but when reading it, it feels like a lot less because you just cannot put it down and it is so quick to read.
Nate is such a peach and I would do absolutely anything for him and he must be protected at all costs. Jack is sweet, flamboyant and just the perfect amount of dramatic. I love both the main characters so much. They are such amazing LGBTQ+ character and show not every LGBTQ+ is the same, comes out the same or shares their sexuality the same. I love how both Jack and Nate help each other throughout the course of the book and how they find their friendship again after years apart.
I adored the entire plot of this book. It is such a joy to read. If you are feeling sad then this book is sure to put a smile on your face. Also this book is hilarious and made me laugh out loud so many times. Heartbreak Boys is the English gay rom-com that we all need and want in our lives.
Simon James Green has done it again and written a sweet, hilarious and joyful book that I cannot recommend to you enough. I love Simon’s writing and his stories never fail to make me laugh out loud and smile continuously!
Overall, this book is absolutely wonderful and I loved it a lot! It is sweet, heart-warming, gay and full of laugher and joy! I cannot recommend Heartbreak Boys enough!
