August Book Haul!

Another month, means another book haul! Last months haul was small, this months haul is quite a bit bigger. Throughout August I hauled 14 books even though I wanted to buy an awful lot more. This haul consists of a few pre-orders, some presents for myself and some gifted to me by publishers. Here is my August book haul!

I started the month out with a trip to a bookshop with a friend. We are bad influences on each other and just put books in each others hands. On that trip I ended up buying 4 books! I bought, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid which I read immediately and absolutely adore. Also, My Policeman by Bethan Roberts which I want to read before the film is released. The Passing Playbook by Isaac Fitzsimons which I thoroughly enjoyed and The Things We Don’t See by Savannah Brown which was excellent.

I was lucky enough to be sent a few books this month. They were Wicked Little Deeds by Kat Ellis (gifted) which is such a thrilling book. Also, Fireborn by Aisling Fowler (gifted) which was such a magical book that I’d recommend. Finally, I was incredibly lucky to win a proof copy of Twin Crowns by Catherine Doyle and Katherine Webber (gifted). I am so excited to read this one as it sounds incredible!

I went on a weekend away with friends this month and of course we found our way to some bookshops. Whilst there I bought The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren which is a book I’ve been meaning to read for a long time now and thought it was finally time. Also, Anxious People by Fredrick Backman as it is out in paperback now and I was waiting for it to do so as I’ve heard a lot about his writing.

Finally, I decided to treat myself to a few books this month, not that I needed more books! Those books were Rise to the Sun by Leah Johnson which sounds so interesting and perfect for summer. Also, If the Shoe Fits by Julie Murphy which I’ve seen a lot of talk about online so had to buy. Afterlove by Tanya Byrne which is now a favourite book of mine and I highly recommend you give it a read! As I am now obsessed with Taylor Jenkins Reid, I bought After I Do by Talyor Jenkins Reid as I have heard excellent things. Last but not least, I bought Splinters of Sunshine by Patrice Lawrence as you can never go wrong with a book by Patrice and I think this will be perfect to get me out of a reading slump.

Overall, I ended the month with 14 more physical books than I started it with. I’ve read 6 of them so far which is not too bad. I’m planning to read a few more of them in September too!

What books did you buy in August and what books are you excited for in September? Let me know in the comments!
