New Book Releases I’m Excited For! – October

Another month is almost here, which can only mean one thing, more new releases to add to my TBR! I am always adding new books to my TBR because I love finding new stories that are out there in the world. New stories mean new adventures and what more can you want!

There are so many new books coming out in October and I cannot wait to share them with you. Here are the new book releases I’m excited for in October!

Empress and Aniya by Candice Carty-Williams

When Empress starts at Aniya’s school, they’re not exactly best friends. But, when the two teenage girls accidentally cast a spell on their 16th birthday and end up switching bodies, they quickly learn that friendship is the most important magic of all. South London’s answer to ‘Freaky Friday’, Empress and Aniya is a moving portrayal of the importance of real friendship and the ups and downs of being a teenager.

I’ve heard non-stop incredible things about Candice Carty-Williams previous novel Queenie so I am excited for her to release a YA book. I am hoping to reading this one very soon and then hopefully finally read Queenie. I’m sure they will both be astounding.

Aristotle and Dante Dive Into The Waters Of The World by Benjamin Alire Sáenz

SYNOPSIS FOR THE FIRST BOOK TO AVOID SPOILERS

Aristotle is an angry teen with a brother in prison. Dante is a know-it-all who has an unusual way of looking at the world. When the two meet at the swimming pool, they seem to have nothing in common. But as the loners start spending time together, they discover that they share a special friendship–the kind that changes lives and lasts a lifetime. And it is through this friendship that Ari and Dante will learn the most important truths about themselves and the kind of people they want to be.

I have very fond memories of reading the first Aristotle and Dante book so, the minute I heard there would be a sequel I was beyond excited. I am looking forward to seeing what Aristotle and Dante get up to and to read a book that I know will put a smile on my face!

Our Way Back to Always by Nina Moreno

Luisa (Lou) Patterson grew up across the street from Sam Alvarez in the small, quirky town of Port Coral. They used to be inseparable–spending every holiday together, shooting silly YouTube videos, and rescuing stray cats. But then middle school happened, including the most disastrous (and embarrassing) serenade ever, and Lou and Sam haven’t talked in the four years since. Sam is now the golden boy with plenty of friends, while Lou is an introverted romantic who’s happy playing video games and writing fan fiction. But it’s also the summer before their senior year, and life is knocking on Lou’s door.

This book sounds like the perfect YA contemporary romance to read to get you out of a reading slump. It is actually the book I need to get me out of my current reading slump. I am looking froward to giving this a read as soon as possible. Give me cute, heart-warming and sweet romance please!

Stay Another Day by Juno Dawson

When three very different siblings, Fern, Rowan and Willow, go home for a Christmas reunion at their family home in Edinburgh, it’s not long before some VERY BIG SECRETS threaten their cosy holiday …

The McAllister house on Arboretum Road has seen 120 Christmases since its completion.

This year, FERN is bringing her gorgeous boyfriend home and she wants everything to be perfect.

But her twin brother ROWAN would rather go on the pull than pull crackers with the family.

And their younger sister WILLOW is terrified of Christmas Day.

With FOUR sleeps till Christmas,
THREE secretive siblings,
TWO hot houseguests,
And ONE juicy secret …
This Christmas, there will be some BIG surprises under the tree.

I know this book is about Christmas and the spooky season has not passed yet but I am beyond excited to give it a read. Juno Dawson never fails to impress with her books and I’m sure this one will too. I am going to read this just after Halloween to get me into the Christmas spirit.
