I’m always adding books to my wishlist / TBR after seeing them in bookshops or online. Some books stay on there for a couple of days, others for months on end. There are some books on my wishlist currently that I want to buy very soon and I thought I’d share them with you. Here are 5 books I want to buy soon!

This Time It’s Real by Ann Liang
When seventeen-year-old Eliza Lin’s essay about meeting the love of her life unexpectedly goes viral, her entire life changes overnight. Now she has the approval of her classmates at her new international school in Beijing, a career-launching internship opportunity at her favorite magazine…and a massive secret to keep.
Eliza made her essay up. She’s never been in a relationship before, let alone in love. All good writing is lying, right?
Desperate to hide the truth, Eliza strikes a deal with the famous actor in her class, the charming but aloof Caz Song. She’ll help him write his college applications if he poses as her boyfriend. Caz is a dream boyfriend — he passes handwritten notes to her in class, makes her little sister laugh, and takes her out on motorcycle rides to the best snack stalls around the city.
But when her relationship with Caz starts feeling a little too convincing, all of Eliza’s carefully laid plans are threatened. Can she still follow her dreams if it means breaking her own heart?

I’ve been seeing a lot about this one recently and I included it on my upcoming releases of 2023 post, so I would love to pick it up soon. I love books with celebrity main characters and this one is one I’m sure I’ll love. I’ve seen some excellent reviews of it so far and can’t wait to see what I think myself.
Do I Know You? by Emily Wibberly and Austin Siegemund-Broka
Eliza and Graham’s marriage is quietly failing. With their five-year anniversary approaching, neither of them are thrilled about the weeklong getaway they’ve been gifted. The luxury retreat prides itself on being a destination for those in love and those looking to find it – but for Eliza and Graham it’s the last place they want to be.
After a well-meaning guest mistakes Eliza and Graham as being single and introduces them at the hotel bar, they don’t correct him. Suddenly, they’re pretending to be perfect strangers and it’s unexpectedly fun. Eliza and Graham find themselves flirting like it’s their first date.
Everyone at the retreat can see the electric chemistry between Eliza and Graham’s alter egos. But as their game continutes they realize this performance could be the very thing that saves their marriage . . .

This is another of the books I included on my upcoming releases of 2023. I’ve already got a few books by this writing duo and I’d like to add another to my collection. I’ve seen it get some excellent reviews too which makes me want to pick it up even more!
The Summer of Broken Rules by K. L. Walther
When Meredith Fox lost her sister, Claire, eighteen months ago, she shut everyone out. But this summer she’s determined to join the world again.
The annual family vacation to Martha’s Vineyard seems like the perfect place to reconnect. Her entire extended family is gathering for a big summer wedding, and although Meredith is dateless after being unexpectedly dumped, she’s excited to participate in the traditional Fox family game of assassin that will take place during the week of wedding festivities. Claire always loved the game, and Meredith is determined to honor her legacy.
But when Meredith forms an assassin alliance with a cute groomsman, she finds herself getting distracted. Meredith tries to focus on the game and win it for her sister, but she can’t help falling for him. And as the week progresses, she realizes she’s not only at risk of losing the game, but also her heart.

I have this one on the list of books I want to read in summer this year. It seems like it will be the perfect book to read whilst sat by a pool and just put a smile on your face. Again, it is another I’ve seen some excellent reviews of online. The problem is, I’ve yet to actually see this one in a book store.
Us Against You by Fredrik Backman
POTENTIAL SPOILERS FOR BEARTOWN
Can a broken town survive a second tragedy?
By the time the last goal is scored, someone in Beartown will be dead . . .
Us Against You is the story of two towns, two teams and what it means to believe in something bigger than yourself. It’s about how people come together – sometimes in anger, often in sorrow, but also through love.
And how, when we stand together, we can bring a town back to life.

After reading Beartown last year and loving it, I’ve since been excited to read the next book in the series. Fredrik Backman tells stories in such a beautiful way and captivates you. His stories are extraordinary and I’ve no doubt this one will be the same.
Plain Bad Heroines by Emily M. Danforth
In the early 1900’s, Brookhants students Flo and Clara fell madly in love, brought together by their obsession for a scandalous memoir.
A few months later they were found dead in the woods, after a horrific wasp attack, the book lying next to their intertwined bodies.
Three more grisly deaths followed before the school was forced to close.
Now, the school’s doors are open once more. But as the crew of glamorous young actresses assemble to start filming, past and present begin to blur. And soon it’s impossible to tell quite where the curse ends and Hollywood begins…

I’ve nearly picked this one up so many times because the synopsis makes it sound incredible. It is a big book though and I always get put off by big books. So, I would like this one to be my next audiobook purchase. It is still a long audiobook but it means I can still read it without having the big book fear!

There you have it, 5 of the books I want to buy soon. What books are you hoping to pick up soon? Let me know in the comments below!
