I feel like it has been ages since I last did a book tag. I love doing them so thought why not give another one I go. So, I thought 'The Last Book I...' tag which I found on bookforager would be a perfect one to try. Here it is!

Highly Suspicious and Unfairly Cute – Talia Hibbert
After reading and loving the Brown Sisters trilogy by Talia Hibbert, I was beyond excited to see she was releasing a YA romance novel. I have to say, I was a little bit apprehensive going into this one as I wasn’t too sure how her writing would translate from adult romance to YA romance. Let me tell you, she did it wonderfully! Highly Suspicious and Unfairly Cute is such an adorable, heart-warming and fun YA romance that I would highly recommend.
Six Times We Almost Kissed (And One Time We Did) – Tess Sharpe
Six Times We Almost Kissed (And One Time We Did) is already on my list for best reads of 2023 and will no doubt be staying there. It is a wonderful young adult slow-burn romance story with LGBTQ+ characters and heavy-hitting themes. It is one of those books that I will not be forgetting about any time soon.
What Happened in January?
It is finally the last day of January! This month has felt like it has been three months in one and I am so ready for it to be over. I've done a lot this month, been to concerts, the cinema, on a lot of walks and a whole bunch more. Here is what happened in January!
What I Read in January!
January always feels extra long in comparison to other months and this January has been no different. I've read 8 books throughout January, which is less than I expected but still excellent. So, I'm back with another post about what I've read this month. In this post you will find a bunch of mini reviews for the books I've read in January! Here they are!
A Million to One – Adiba Jaigirdar
I’ve been looking forward to reading A Million to One ever since it was announced, what feels like years ago. So, I had some high expectations when I finally got the opportunity to read it. This is a high-stakes heist on the seas and was a lot of fun to read. I have to say it didn’t live up to all of my expectations but I did enjoy it.
The Way I Used to Be – Amber Smith
The Way I Used to Be is a truly unforgettable book that I will forever be recommending. It is an extraordinary portrayal of trauma and I don’t think a book has made me as emotional as this one in a long time. I would highly recommend this book but please ensure you check the trigger warning before going in. TW: Rape, sexual assault, substance abuse.
New Book Releases I’m Excited For – February
One of my favourite things to do it be on the look out for new books! I love adding them to my TBR and pre-ordering ones I am particularly excited about. There are a lot of new books coming out in February and I wanted to share some of them in this post. So, here re the new book releases I'm excited for in February.
Promise Boys – Nick Brooks
When a book is said to be perfect for fans of Angie Thomas and Karen M. McManus, I am of course going to want to read that book. So, when saw this and read the synopsis of Promise Boys I immediately wanted to read. I’m so glad I got the opportunity to read this book because it is absolutely incredible! It is an unputdownable YA thriller that uses multiple POVs to grip you into a shocking story.
Lord of the Fly Fest – Goldy Moldavsky
Lord of the Fly Fest is a whacky and surreal take on the classic tale of Lord of the Flies. It is Lord of the Flies for the social media age and I had a lot of fun reading it. Goldy Moldavsky is definitely an author who I will be reading more of in the future.
