I am back again with yet another large book haul! June has been another month of endless pre-orders but I’m not complaining. My June book haul for 2021 consists of 17 books in total, which is way more that I was expecting from a book haul this month.
This haul consists of a few pre-orders, some presents for myself and some that I have been gifted in exchange for an honest review. Here is my June book haul!
I’m going to split this book haul into the books I bought myself as a present, then books I’ve been gifted by publishers and then my pre-orders. This way they all have their own little section in my rather large book haul!
I bought myself 5 books this month! These were, Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid which I had seen so many amazing reviews of and had to buy when I saw it on offer in the supermarket. The Truth Project by Dante Medema which is one I’ve had my eyes on for a while and I had to buy it when I saw it. Where We Go From Here by Lucas Rocha is another that I had heard many great things about and had to buy a copy of when I was in one of the many bookshops I visited this month. The last two books I bought this month were Boy Queen by George Lester and Ace of Spades by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé! They are both books I’ve heard a lot of great things about and I cannot wait to read then!
I was very lucky to be sent 4 books from publishers this month. They were, Reputation by Lex Croucher which I was lucky enough to win a giveaway for. I’ll be reading it and reviewing it soon. Also, The Forevers by Chris Whittaker which is a book I’ve had my eye on for a couple of months and cannot wait to read and review. I was lucky enough to win a second giveaway this month for an ARC of Grow by Luke Palmer which sounds like such an interesting book. Finally, Radha & Jai’s Recipe for Romance by Nisha Sharma which sounds like a book that is right up my street. Thank you so much to all the lovely publishers for sending me copies of these books in exchange for an honest review! I cannot wait to share my thoughts with you all.
Next up, I had a total of 8 pre-orders arrive on my doorstep this month which is madness! They consisted of, Meet Cute Diary by Emery Lee which I cannot wait to read. It has been on my radar for so long now and I’ll be reading it very soon. One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston is another I’ve been waiting to read for so long and I’ve heard so many amazing things about already. My lovely pre-order parcel from Queer Lit arrived with You’re the One That I Want by Simon James Green, which I adored and Not My Problem by Ciara Smyth. If you are looking for an excellent indie shop, then Queer Lit is incredible!
The last preorders that arrived this month were, Blackout by Dhonielle Clayton, Tiffany D Jackson, Nic Stone, Angie Thomas, Ashley Woodfolk and Nicola Yoon! I am halfway through this one already and loving it a lot. Also An Emotion of Great Delight by Tahereh Mafi which is a heartbreaking and beautiful story that I would highly recommend. I saw The Ones We’re Meant to Find by Joan He marketed for fans of Lauren James so of course I pre-ordered this book and will be reading it soon. Finally, A Pho Love Story by Loan Le which I have been waiting to arrive for months due to its release date being pushed by a lot!
Overall, I ended the month with 17 more physical books than I started it out with. I’ve only read 2 and a half of the books that I got this month but I’ve had quite a bad reading month. I’m sure I’ll get through more of them throughout July!
