Happy New Year everyone! Today is the first day of 2024 and the start of a brand new year. I’m looking forward to seeing what this new year will bring. I thought to start out the year it would be perfect to do a little New Years book tag, which I’ve done in 2022 and 2023. Here is the New Years book tag!

How many books are you planning on reading in 2024?
I’ve set my Storygraph and Goodreads challenge goals to 80 books this year. I managed to read 120 books throughout 2023. So, I felt like reading 80 books throughout 2024 gives me enough room to enjoy my reading and not push myself to meeting a goal. If I need to, I can always up the goal if I reach it early on in 2024.
Name five books you didn’t get to read in 2023 but want to make a priority in 2024?
There are so many books that I bought in 2023 and then didn’t get round to reading. So, it is safe to safe there are a lot more than 5 books that I want to read in 2024. If I did have to narrow it down to 5 they would have to be:
- Iris Kelly Doesn’t Date by Ashley Herring Blake
- Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams
- Before Your Memory Fades by Toshikazu Kawaguchi
- Betting on You by Lynn Painter
- The Long Game by Elena Armas

Name a genre you want to read more of in 2024?
I’d love to read more sci-fi and dystopian books in 2024. They are genres I love but didn’t read much of in 2023. So, I’d love to give more of them a read in 2024.
Three non-book related goals for 2024
- Travel more with my Husband, my friends and my family
- Get a lot of our house re-decoration completed
- Don’t be afraid to try new things
What’s a book you’ve had forever that you still need to read?
I think it has to be Her Majesty’s Royal Coven by Juno Dawson. I’ve been meaning to read it for ages and have heard nothing but amazing things. So, 2024 is the year I stop putting off reading it.
One word that you hope 2024 will be?
Calm.

There you have it! The New Years Book Tag! Hope you had a wonderful New Year and have a wonderful 2024!

I would love to do this one
