Ben has spent his first year of college working on his fantasy manuscript with his writing partner Mario, who is a great Spanish tutor, and an even better kisser. So why can’t he stop thinking about the fact that Arthur’s back in town two years after they called it quits? Arthur is in New York for a dream internship on Broadway, with a boyfriend back at home that he couldn't be happier with. But when he comes upon Ben cuddled up with a mystery boy, he starts to wonder if his feelings for Ben ever truly went away. Even as the boys try to focus on their futures, they can't seem to help running into each other in the present. Is the universe forcing them to question if they’re actually meant to be? Possibly not. After all, things didn’t work the first time around. Possibly yes. After all, the sparks are still flying. Sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith and raise a glass.
I finished reading Kate in Waiting by Becky Albertalli a little while ago and I throughly enjoyed it. As always with Becky's books it gave me some well needed escapism and happiness. I wanted to do what I normally do with a book I enjoy which is pick a quote from it and get designing. So, that is exactly what I did!
Contrary to popular belief, best friends Kate Garfield and Anderson Walker are not codependent. Carpooling to and from theater rehearsals? Environmentally sound and efficient. Consulting each other on every single life decision? Basic good judgment. Pining for the same guys from afar? Shared crushes are more fun anyway.
Recently, whilst I had nothing to do and was not in the mood for reading, I decided to get creative. This normally means I pick a quote from a book I've loved recently and get designing. So, this is exactly what I did!
Last weekend me and the wonderful Sarah from The Little Contemporary Corner who is one of my favourite people ever took a day trip to the wonderful city of Liverpool. We had plans to go to a museum, go book shopping, eat food, read in a cafe and finally attend the Becky Albertalli and Aisha… Continue reading A Trip to Liverpool and a Book Event
Jamie Goldberg is cool with volunteering for this local state senate candidate, as long as he is behind the scenes. When it comes to speaking to strangers, Jamie just can't. There is no way that he would ever knock on doors to ask people for their votes. That is until he meets Maya. Maya Rehman's… Continue reading Yes No Maybe So – Becky Albertalli and Aisha Saeed
I read What If It's Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silver towards the end of the year and fell in love with the story. I have actually picked it up again recently just to look back on some of my favourite aspects of the book. Whilst doing this one quote stood out to… Continue reading What If It’s Us – Quote
Once again I am extremely late in reviewing this film, over a year late. I am currently trying to rewatch and review a YA film adaptation each month. This month I rewatched Love, Simon which is the film adaptation of the novel Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. I love both the… Continue reading Love, Simon – Film Review
Recently, I got the chance to interview Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera, the author's of What If It's Us and other YA novels. The amazing Kimi at Waterstones Deansgate and Olivia from S&S gave me this opportunity and I am so grateful. I love having the opportunity to interview authors and then bring the questions to… Continue reading Question Time with Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera
Arthur is in New York but only for the Summer. Arthur loves Broadway and if it has taught him anything it is that the universe can gift you with a show-stopping romance when you least expect it. Ben believes the universe needs to keep its nose out of his business. If the universe cared about… Continue reading What If It’s Us – Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera
